|
An occasional patient has both a pressing need for visualization of the biliary system in spite of a past history of reaction to iodinated contrast media. We report a patient, who had reacted adversely to contrast media, underwent ERCP using
barium
sulfate in order to opacify the biliary and pancreatic duct without side effect successfully. In conclusion, ERCP using barium sulfate as a contrast material is of value in patients who are intolerant of the iodinated contrast media.
